We arrived at Popes Hall Cottage in 1995. Living in the middle of nowhere, our new neighbours strolled across our lawn from their Barn, to welcome us. They looked so glamorous and were so charismatic, we thought they must be retired rock stars, living the reclusive lifestyle. How welcoming Paul and Linda were together with Nick and Imogen. As a family, their door was always open to us. They were generous and genuine in everything they did. We remember Paul to be a highly skilled and passionate craftsman, which could be seen in many of his buildings and the Barn. His attention to detail and traditional building methods were his trademark. Paul would always give his time and be happy to share his knowledge. He will be truly missed by all and we are so privileged to have known him and his family for a small part of his life.
